ΘΟΛΟΥΡΑ / NUBLADO / MISTY, de Katerína Gógou

ΤΙ ΕΚΑΝΕΣ ΣΗΜΕΡΑ;

Sacudiu o tapete lavou copos e cinzeiros

conversando consigo mesma.

e comprou “A CONSCIÊNCIA DA MULHER EM UM MUNDO DE HOMENS”, edições Célula.

Estava arrumando a mesa

linda inteligente e bem-informada

quando a campainha da porta soou.

A criança dormia

lavou a louça conversando consigo mesma

Acendeu um cigarro abriu o livro e leu,

“... Somente quando as mulheres exigirem energicamente

haverá esperança de mudança”,

e embaixo:

“SIM, MAS O QUE FIZESTE HOJE QUERIDA

O QUE FIZESTE HOJE?”

Levantou-se com cautela

pegou o fio do secador

apertou-o em torno do pescoço do marido

e escreveu sob a pergunta

do movimento feminista: ENFORQUEI UM.

Então discou 197 e até que chegassem

ela leu o horóscopo em “MULHER”.

Translation from Jack Hirschman:

She got up and prepared breakfast perfectly

with movements of mathematical precision

greeted them: I’ll love you, so long, don’t be late

at the wisely polished doorstep.

Shook out rug washed cups and ashtrays

talking only to herself.

Put food in the saucepan and changed the water in the vase.

Felt sage at the grocery

smiled patronizingly at the hairdresser’s

felt alienated at the cosmetic warehouse

and bought “THE CONSCIENCE OF WOMAN IN A MAN’S WORLD” by Cell editions.

Was setting the table

beautiful clever and well-informed

when the doorbell rang.

The kid was asleep

and her husband touched her from the behind.

She giggle like she’d seen in an ad

and in a coarse sexual voice said to him: come

He fucked her came and dried up.

The woman rose careful not to wake him

washed the dishes talking to herself

opened the window to let the smell out

lit a cigarette opened the book and read,

“…Only when women actively demand

will there exist hope for a change”,

and a little further down:

YES BUT WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY DARLING

WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY?

She rose with caution

took the barbecue cord

tied in round her husband’s neck

and wrote under the feminist

movement’s question: I strangled one.

Then she dialed the police and until they arrived

read her horoscope in “WOMAN”.
